amenbo 2.2.0 — After you create a project, the screen walks you to your first tasks
Creating a project now lays out three moves: open a terminal, paste the request to your AI, watch the tasks land on the board. The same three sit on a board with nothing on it yet.
This release is about what happens right after you create a project: the screen now walks you from an empty board to your first tasks on it. Nothing about the way you already use amenbo changes.
The first loop, right after a project is created
- Three moves, laid out in order — open a terminal, copy the request and paste it to your AI, and the tasks it registers appear on the board.
- The terminal opens inside the project’s folder — already there, nothing to navigate.
- The request text is handed over finished — no blanks to fill in. It covers reading
AGENTS.mdto learn how amenbo works, deciding together with you what should become tasks, and registering them in amenbo. - amenbo does not ask which AI you use — launch yours and paste.
- If the terminal cannot be opened, it does not stop at an error — the path of the linked folder is shown with a copy button, so you can open a terminal yourself and
cdthere.
The same three moves on a board with no tasks
- They stay readable after you close the creation screen — the board shows the same three moves while it is still empty, and they disappear once it has at least one task.
- A project with no folder linked asks for one first — an invitation to link a folder appears instead, with a button that leads to the settings. The linked folder is where the terminal opens and where the AI writes.
“Getting started” hands over the same request
- One wording, whichever way you come in — the request the “Getting started” screen gives you and the one the first loop copies are now the same text. There is only one form to learn.
Getting it
Open the installer for your OS from the latest release. GUI and CLI come together, and no admin rights are needed.
- macOS —
.pkg, one for Apple silicon and one for Intel (first open shows a Gatekeeper prompt: right-click → Open) - Windows — setup
.exe - Linux —
.deb/.rpm
To update: on the GUI, the “a newer version is available” banner applies it in place. If you installed only the CLI, amenbo update --apply swaps it.
